David and Sophie Devynck have breathed new life into four hectares of very old vines in the prized southern reaches of Burgundy. Their Clos Sauvage is a protected enclave perched at 450 meters above sea level, where granite soils lightly dusted with clay-limestone are farmed organically. From this little corner of paradise come wines of intensity, restraint, and authenticity.

In 2023, they acquired an adjoining parcel once owned by the late Denis Jeandeau, located in the commune of Chasselas, within the Saint-Véran appellation. These remarkable soils now carry on his legacy, seen through fresh eyes—giving rise to elegant, expressive wines that are every bit as compelling.

Clos Sauvage is quickly making a name for itself. Newly featured in the French wine guide RVF, the estate is gaining well-earned recognition. These two wines are not to be missed—they capture the spirit of classic Burgundy with striking finesse and approachability. Utterly delicious and available only through a limited allocation.

From a parcel once meticulously tended by Denis Jeandeau, the 2023 White Saint-Véran Entre Ciel et Terre pays tribute to his legacy with a sleek, graceful wine marked by remarkable tension. This is a vibrant, finely crafted Chardonnay, balancing precision and elegance. Vinified with a focus on purity and finesse, it sees only a quarter of the aging in oak, allowing the terroir to shine. A true favorite of the Selection Committee, rated 93-94/100.

The 2023 White Pouilly-Fuissé marks the first vintage of this cuvée. Aged entirely in barrels, it offers a wine of impressive depth and structure, with a saline edge, freshness, and delicate bitter notes that add complexity. A textbook example of the appellation—rich, refined, and irresistibly balanced. Rated 94/100 by the Selection Committee.
