The estate and the wine
The estate and the wine Jorge Navascués is a born talent. Based in the province of Zaragoza, his Mas de Mancuso embodies the pinnacle of Spanish winemaking and is revolutionizing the region by restoring Aragon’s native grape varieties to their rightful place at the top.

Demanding and passionate, Jorge Navascués is one of the most highly regarded winemakers and oenologists on the Iberian Peninsula. A craftsman behind numerous successes worldwide, he creates wines bursting with pure fruit, elite-quality bottles offered at incredible value, all sourced from high-altitude, cool-climate vineyards planted with vines aged 50 to 70 years.
Wine Pure and delicate, the 2021 Cariñena Mancuso Garnacha Red opens with notes of spice and floral aromas, complemented by fragrant hints of thyme and pepper. Grown on a 1.5-hectare plot perched at 700 meters altitude, these 50- to 60-year-old vines yield low quantities of richly textured juice with velvety tannins. Fermented with whole clusters and aged in 500-liter barrels, the result is a savoury and elegant wine—exceptionally pure, exquisitely balanced, and highly precise. One of the finest Grenaches in the region, it’s been awarded 95/100 by the Selection Committee and 94/100 by Parker.
Vinification Hand harvested. 40% whole grapes. Vinification in open stainless steel vats with cold maceration for 24 to 48 hours. Fermentation for 40 days with gentle pumping over. Aged for 12 months, 65% in concrete vats and 35% in 500-liter French oak barrels.
