An emblematic figure of Burgundy and respected by all, Nicolas Potel achieved the remarkable feat of bringing Maison Bellene — both estate and négociant — to the highest level after the sale of his family estate, Domaine de la Pousse d’Or.
A great winemaker, he championed a viticulture free of dogma but always demanding. His wines were graceful, perfumed and profound, marked by perfect ripeness and constant elegance. His sudden passing was a shock to the wine world and to VALAP, where he was a close and trusted partner.
Today, his children — Alphonse, Antonia and Émilien — carry on his legacy with the same passion and rigor, guided by his spirit and his high standards. The wines to come will continue to reflect the style and refinement that defined Nicolas Potel.
Seize this Gevrey-Chambertin, rated 95 out of 100 by the Selection Committee, for under 40 euros. A feat you simply won’t find elsewhere.
